Rules & Guidelines Members: Ø All WWC members must have a current valid USA Wrestling membership. A card may be obtained from the WWC Administrative staff. No participant will be allowed to participate without current valid membership. This eliminates the “one time grace period” we honored in the past. Ø American University faculty and students (with valid AU ID) only need the USA Wrestling membership card for $25.00. The Washington Wrestling Club dues are waived. Ø “Intensive” daily practices are scheduled and offered to those who desire a higher level of training. Practices: Ø WWC members must sign in at the front desk. Ø 1st time members must be escorted by a current WWC member. Ø At least one WWC Administrator will be present at each WWC practice and/or event. Ø WWC is responsible for cleaning the mats with the proper solution after practice. Ø Only wrestling shoes are allowed on the mat. Ø If the Jacobs Fitness Center is closed, we are closed. Be careful on graduation days. Ø Practice schedule: · Sunday: 2:30 – 5:00 PM · Wednesday: 6:30 – 8:30 PM · Daily (7 days): 4:30 – 6:30 PM Club: Ø The Washington Wrestling Club will sanction the organization and site (American University) through both USA Wrestling and Amateur Athletic Union. Ø The WWC fiscal calendar is the same as USA Wrestling: September 1st – August 31st. Please realize that your card is valid until the end of the fiscal year. Ø Club dues are $50.00 per fiscal year. This includes the USA Wrestling card - $25.00 and an American University Facility charge of $10.00. If a wrestler has purchased his card elsewhere then the amount of the USA Wrestling card is deducted from the Club dues. Ø A check is preferable! Cash is OK. Make checks out to: “Washington Wrestling Club”. Only present it to a designated Club Administrator: Ron Reider, Mike Jasso, Steve Shapiro or Victor Morales. The USA Wrestling card allows you into tournaments sanctioned by USA Wrestling (NOT the AAU! that’s another card! Victor Morales can assist with AAU). The USAW card provides insurance for you (to many details to mention here) and the USA Wrestling Magazine. The money also supports USA’s National Governing Body for Amateur Wrestling – its programs & services!!! Ø Please check the Washington Wrestling Club web site for more details:
